My journey has taken me full circle. I was born and raised in Chelsea, MI and have always loved food and cooking. I was a General Manager and Short Order Cook at my parents owned Rod’s Diner in Ann Arbor. I also worked in several restaurants throughout my adult life.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Western Michigan University, I moved to the New York City area and had a career in publishing, culminating with my position as Director of Business Development at Budget Travel magazine. I also received my Masters of Business Administration from Metropolitan College of New York.

I always kept my love of food, though, and wanted to change careers to fulfill that love. So, I earned a Culinary Arts Degree from the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC, during which I also gained food and business knowledge from my externship at Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain. When I moved back to Chelsea to be closer to family, I kept my journey going by working with Wesley’s Catering and then finally creating Comfort Catering Services.

Another big part of my life is service. My mom is a local artist, was a teacher in Chelsea for 30 years, was a building union representative and served with The Chelsea United Way and other community groups. My dad was a social worker and volunteered for Chelsea Behavioral Health and mentored kids at Chelsea First United Methodist Church. They are/were both very active in the community and instilled in me the importance and value of community and public service.

With the creation of Comfort Catering Services, I have combined my love of food with my love of community service and am proud to be serving my community through the comfort and nutrition of chef-quality, homecooked meals!
